Samay Raina Still Alive : In the world of Indian stand-up comedy, few names spark as much curiosity and conversation as Samay Raina. After a turbulent 2025 marked by massive controversy surrounding his show India’s Got Latent, many fans were left wondering: Samay Raina still alive – not just physically, but in the industry?
The answer is a resounding yes. Samay Raina is not only alive and well but has made one of the most talked-about comebacks of the year with his debut stand-up comedy special titled “Still Alive”.
In early 2025, Samay Raina’s popular YouTube show India’s Got Latent became the center of a huge storm. A controversial remark by guest Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps) led to widespread backlash, multiple FIRs, police involvement, and the show being taken down. The episode affected not just Samay but also others involved, including emotional strain on his team, friends, and family.
Samay took a step back from the spotlight for nearly a year. During this time, he faced intense public scrutiny, media pressure, and personal challenges. He has openly shared how the fallout left him broken at moments – including an emotional breakdown on stage while recalling how elderly parents of a friend were caught in the chaos.

Samay Raina Still Alive : The Special That Changed Everything
On April 7, 2026, Samay Raina released his highly anticipated debut stand-up special “Still Alive” on YouTube. The full video (around 1 hour 16 minutes) quickly crossed millions of views within a day, with reports of over 11 million views in under 24 hours.
In this special, Samay does what he does best: mixes sharp, unfiltered humor with raw honesty. He addresses the India’s Got Latent controversy head-on, shares vulnerable stories about his family, his Kashmiri Pandit roots, the guilt he felt, and even the mental toll (including anxiety and feeling like he was in a state of psychosis at one point). Yet, he turns the pain into punchlines that have fans laughing and relating.
One of the highlights? Samay announces the return of India’s Got Latent Season 2 with a wild new format. He jokes that Season 1 couldn’t have ended on a “higher” note, proving his resilient spirit.
The special has been praised for its honesty, comedy, and emotional depth. Many viewers called it a “genius stroke” that brought back the love while shutting down trolls and critics.
