RRB ALP Recruitment 2025: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has delayed the start of the application process for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment 2025 by two days. It was earlier going to start from 10 April 2025, but now it will begin from 12 April 2025.
This news was shared on the RRB’s official website.
However, the last date to apply is still 11 May 2025, there is no change.
Total 9,970 posts will be filled in different RRB zones across India.
This is a golden chance for those who want to make a career in Railways, especially for those who missed applying last time.

Education Needed to Apply for ALP
You must have any one of the below:
- Passed Class 10 and have an ITI certificate in a related trade
- Passed Class 10 and have a 3-year Engineering Diploma
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (in the related field)
Age Limit
Your age must be between 18 to 30 years on 1 July 2025.
Application Fee
- General/OBC: ₹500 (₹400 will be returned if you appear in CBT 1)
- SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen: ₹250 (full amount returned if you appear in CBT 1)
Selection Process
- CBT 1 – First computer-based exam (75 questions, 1 hour)
- CBT 2 – Main exam in two parts:
- Part A: 100 questions (90 mins)
- Part B: 75 questions (60 mins), from trade subject
- CBAT – Aptitude test (only for selected candidates)
- Document Verification + Medical Test – Final step
No negative marking in CBAT, but 1/3 marks cut in CBT 1 and CBT 2 for wrong answers.
