World Chess Championship 2024

World Chess championship 2024: This year’s World Chess Championship is happening in Singapore as it is been selected as host for this year championship. This championship had started on November 25, 2024 and it will be continued till December 13, 2024. There will be best of 14 matches in the world chess championship and additional tie breaker match if required.

The country like India, Argentina, Singapore, USA, China, Germany, Russia, Cuba and etc. will be participating in this year’s World Chess Championship. The full list is not out till now. Still several country names are not been scheduled till now.

The opening ceremony and press conference.

The championship started by the arrival of the player at Singapore on 20 and 21 November 2024 and handling of the schedule to the players according to the event. These continues with press conference of each player with reporter from around the world. These further led by opening ceremony of the World Chess Championship. These started with speech of member of the championship and introduction of the player from each country participating. These further ended with several performance.

Who is Gukesh Dommaraju?

The Gukesh Dommaraju from Chennai is 18 years old and the youngest contender of World Chess Championship. He was born on May 29, 2024. He became grandmaster at the age of 12 on 2019. In 2022 he defeated magnus Carlsen who the world champion of that year.

The highlights of India vs China match.

The first match of India was with China in which Gukesh lost by Ding Liren by 42 moves, Ding is ranked at world number 5 right now and Gukesh is 5 right now. During the second game both of them had a draw which leads India to play a white in Third game. They need to play 10 more game to win the World Chess Championship.

On Wednesday India won its first match of the World Chess Championship, after these they again had a draw during the fourth, fifth, and sixth game. Till now both of them has won 1 game each and tied in 4 games. The last game will decide the winner between them.

The Closing ceremony.

The World Chess Ceremony will end with awarding the champion after the final game of the event and awarding the champion of these year. The will be appreciation of all the player participation and departure of them to their individual country.    

History of world chess championship and champions.

The pre-Fide world chess championship: –

The very first Chess Championship was started in the year 1886, in which Austrian-American Wilhelm Steinitz became the first championship of the match. This match led to a global reorganization of the game, but only few countries were part of it.

The Wilhelm Steinitz was also the winner of 1889-92, the first Pre-Fide. Then came the Emanuel Lasker the second champion of Pre- Fide World Chess Championship who was world champion from 1894-1920, then came José Raúl Capablanca from 1921-26, Alexander Alekhine from 1927-34, Max Euwe from 1935-36, then again Alexander Alekhine from 1937-46, then came Mikhail Botvinnik from 1948-56, Vasily Smyslov from 1957, Mikhail Botvinnik from 1958-59, Mikhail Tal from 1960, Mikhail Botvinnik from 1961-62, Tigran Petrosian from 1963-68, Boris Spassky from 1969-71, Bobby Fischer from 1972-74, Anatoly Karpov 1975-84, Garry Kasparov 1985-1993.
