Elon Musk Weighs In on Justin Trudeau’s Political Turmoil Amid India-Canada Tensions
Elon Musk has made a significant comment about Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, linking it to Trudeau’s political future, which has stirred discussions. Trudeau has been in the spotlight recently after accusing India of involvement in the killing of Khalistani Hardeep Singh Nijjar, leading to ongoing controversy. Amid this, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, made a statement about Trudeau that has gained attention.
Musk commented on Trudeau’s political career, stating that Trudeau’s exit in next year’s Canadian elections is almost certain. This statement came in response to a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), where a user asked Musk for help in getting rid of Trudeau. Musk replied with this remark on Trudeau’s future.
Trudeau’s Allegations Against India Last Year
Last year, Trudeau accused India of involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar while speaking in Parliament. Following these accusations, relations between India and Canada have remained tense, with India accusing Trudeau and his party of engaging in vote-bank politics by appealing to Khalistani supporters.
In January this year, Canada’s former National Security Advisor Jody Thomas mentioned that India was cooperating with Canada in the Nijjar murder investigation.
Nijjar’s Killing Last Year
In June of last year, Nijjar was shot dead outside a gurdwara in Surrey, Canada. He was a Khalistani terrorist and the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force. Nijjar had been living in Canada for several years and was actively involved in promoting Khalistani terrorism against India.
According to intelligence sources, Nijjar had become an even greater headache for Indian investigative agencies over the past year as he began providing logistics and financial support to members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang operating abroad.
When Trudeau visited India in 2018, the then Chief Minister of Punjab, Amarinder Singh, handed him a list of Khalistani terrorists, which included Nijjar’s name. In 2020, India’s Ministry of Home Affairs officially designated Nijjar as a terrorist. An FIR had been filed against him for a 2010 bombing outside a temple in Patiala, and he was wanted for several crimes, including inciting violence and promoting terrorist activities. India had also offered a reward of 1 million rupees for information on him.
