Cricket: It is sports played between two teams with 11 players each. This game involves two things batting and balling. First a toss is made between the two team, the team who wins the toss make choice between batting and balling.
This game further starts with first innings in this the team who win the toss start the match with there choice of batting or balling. After this, the second innings start in which the visa versa happens. The this processes the team who makes the highest number of runs till the end of second innings wins the game.
How did cricket got introduced?
This game was first introduced in England during 13th Century, in this game there a stone ball which had to be hit on something called wicket’s bail which was made of wood. Meanwhile the opposite player had to stop this ball to hit the target with a long hockey like bat. Soon this game became very popular among the villager of ruler area, and soon betting started in the matches with large amount of money They soon even title the game as a “Boys game”.
First team game.
After 1660 rich people, nobles and etc started hiring skilled player from the villages and making a team of professional cricket players. This formation of teams led to first ever match Between different country teams. This involves countries like Yorkshire, Kent, Sussex and etc in 1709.
The first law of cricket.
During mid-17th century cricket became one of the most popular sports of the England which led to formation of rules and law of playing the game. In 1744 the first even law was made in cricket by “star and garter club” and they later formed the famous “Marylebone cricket club” at lords in 1787.
The British empire expansion.
In 1772 the introduction of first-class cricket started, in this the Hambleton club organized 3 matches between Hampshire and England. The first match was played Broad half penny down. After this the British empire started getting expanded around the world and they took this game around the world.
The introduction of ICC.
The first even international game was played between US and Canada in 1844(New York). Then in 1859 first ever oversea tours happened in North America and so as in 1862 the first English toured to Australia.
This led to formation of Imperial Cricket Council (ICC) in 1909 by three countries England, Australia and South Africa to regulate cricket match between the three sides. During the initial stage no other country was allowed in the council because of their status and class.
But leaving this limitation behind soon the landscape of international cricket expand to West Indies, New Zealand, and India became the part of test playing nation before World War 2 and after some time Pakistan joined too 1952.
The Cricket in India.
The cricket came to India with British, while the British were ruling in India, they use to play matches of cricket in their capital states like “Calcutta”, “Madras”, and “Bombay” but it uses to be an all-English people game.
Soon many rich people stated forming their own team in as they thought its is cool and in trend after seeing British. After some time, British and Indian started having matches together. Soon many teams formed throughout the India. This led to English player hiring them their teams to play on international level. Until in 1932 when India made its test debut in world cup. After since then many legends and Indian cricket team formation have been seen like Kapil dev, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.
