TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan : Awareness Lecture on Tuberculosis Organized at Dr. D.P. Rastogi Central Research Institute for Homoeopathy, Noida

Under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – 100 Days Campaign  an awareness lecture on Tuberculosis (TB) was organised for the officers and officials of the Dr. D.P. Rastogi Central Research Institute for Homoeopathy, Sector-24, Noida, with the objective of creating awareness regarding prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and eradication of TB.

The programme commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Harpreet, Research Officer/Scientist-I, who highlighted the ongoing burden of TB in India and emphasized the importance of collective efforts, public awareness, and active community participation in achieving the goal of a TB-free India.

Dr. Surbhi, R.A.(H)delivered an informative session on the signs and symptoms of Tuberculosis, including persistent cough, fever, weight loss, night sweats, lymph node enlargement and fatigue. She elaborated on the practical aspects of identifying suspected TB cases, importance of early diagnosis, sputum testing, screening of symptomatic individuals, and timely referral of patients to designated health facilities for appropriate investigation and treatment. She also sensitized the participants regarding infection control measures and the importance of reducing stigma associated with the disease.

Dr. Tushita, Consultant(H)spoke about the nutritional aspects in TB management and highlighted the importance of adequate diet and nutritional support during treatment. She also discussed high-risk groups vulnerable to TB, such as malnourished individuals, diabetics, elderly persons, smokers, and immunocompromised patients. Emphasis was laid on treatment adherence, completion of the full course of anti-tubercular therapy, and the dangers of irregular treatment leading to drug-resistant TB.

The programme concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Padmalaya Rath, Hospital In-Charge, who appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and encouraged all participants to actively contribute towards TB awareness and elimination efforts in society. The session ended with all participants taking the pledge to work together towards the vision of a TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan
