Delhi Weather : Severe Heatwave Returns with 43.6°C Temperature, Yellow Alert Issued

Delhi Weather has once again become a major concern as the capital city is reeling under a severe heatwave. After a brief period of relatively milder temperatures, intense heat has returned, making daily life challenging for residents.

On May 25, 2026, Delhi recorded a scorching maximum temperature of 43.6°C, which is significantly above normal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for heatwave conditions across Delhi and surrounding areas.

Current Delhi Weather Situation

The Delhi Weather today is marked by clear skies, dry winds, and blistering daytime heat. Minimum temperatures are also staying high (between 28–31°C), providing very little relief even after sunset. Areas like Safdarjung, Palam, and parts of Rohini and Noida have been consistently recording temperatures between 43°C and 45°C in recent days.

Strong westerly winds blowing from the Rajasthan desert are further intensifying the heat, making the conditions feel even more oppressive.

7-Day Delhi Weather Forecast

Here’s what the Delhi Weather forecast looks like for the coming week:

  • May 25–27: 43–45°C (Severe Heatwave expected)
  • May 28: Slight drop possible around 42–43°C
  • May 29–31: Gradual relief with maximum temperatures likely to fall to 39–42°C

Meteorologists indicate that a Western Disturbance approaching North India may bring some cloud cover and light rain towards the end of the month, which could finally give Delhi some much-needed respite from the extreme heat.

Health Precautions You Must Take

During this harsh Delhi Weather, it is crucial to prioritize health and safety:

  • Drink plenty of water and fluids like ORS, coconut water, and lemon water.
  • Avoid stepping out between 12 PM and 4 PM unless absolutely necessary.
  • Wear loose, light-colored cotton clothes and use umbrellas or caps for sun protection.
  • Never leave children, elderly people, or pets inside parked vehicles.
  • Keep your home cool by using curtains, fans, and proper ventilation.
