Tata Trust’s New Chairman? Who is Noel Tata?
Tata Trust: Noel Tata, who is Ratan Tata’s half-brother has recently been appointed as the new chairman of Tata Trust. Tata Trust is the principal philanthropic arm of the TATA group and has a significant contribution to the social development of the country. Noel was appointed after the death of Ratan Tata and this responsibility has been entrusted to him on the basis of his 4 decades long service and experience within the group.
Noel Tata has played a major role in companies like Tata International, Trent, Voltas from a small retail store to a chain of over 700 stores. Apart from this he also contributed significantly in increasing the revenues of Tata International from 500 million to 3 billion.
Noel Tata’s personality and leadership style is slightly different from Ratan Tata. He gives a low profit and focuses on his work by staying away from the media. Despite this his strategic approach and business acumen make him well suited for the important role of chairman of Tata Trust.
Noel Tata’s family is also deeply connected to the TATA group, his son Neville Tata is working with Trent, and his daughters Maya and Leah are contributing to various branches of the TATA group.
