IVPL: Cricket fever soars as Veteran stars arrive in Greater Noida for IVPL kick off

The IVPL is set to kick off from Friday here at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Veterans cricketers such as Virender Sehwag, Raina, and Gibbs are set to entertain fans and create some iconic moments in the first edition of IVPL.
The first match of IVPL will see a thrilling clash between Sehwag’s Mumbai Champions and Chris Gayle’s Telangana Tigers here at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex on Friday.
The IVPL Final will be played on March 3 and before the summit clash every day (except Day 1) there will be double headers as Teams get ready to shine on the big stage here.
Players arrived here on Thursday and have hit the ground running. Gibbs, who will captain Red Carpet Delhi in the IVPL, expressed his excitement on joining the squad.
“It’s lovely to be back here. Looking forward to the next 10 days. It’s exciting times. I’ve coached one or two of these players before. It’s nice to be playing alongside them. We’ve got a lovely squad together,” Gibbs said in a statement.
Gibbs is just waiting to get on the field and showcase his skills at the big stage. “If I get in, anything can happen. I think that’s always what made me unpredictable. If I did get in, I could cause a little bit of havoc and I’m looking forward to it.”
Organized by the Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) and managed by 100 Sports, the IVPL will be played in the cricket stadium of Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida from February 23, 2024, to March 3, 2024.
The IVPL will witness fierce competition among six formidable teams, including VVIP Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan Legends, Red Carpet Delhi, Chhattisgarh Warriors, Telangana Tigers, and Mumbai Champions.
Each team will engage in five matches during the league stage before progressing to the semifinals, slated for March 2, where the top four teams will compete for coveted spots in the final showdown.
The matches will be broadcast live in India on the Eurosport channel, DD Sports, and Fancode. Ticket sales are already underway on Bookmyshow, with fans rushing to secure their seats for what promises to be an unforgettable cricketing spectacle.
