exPRESSion – 2024 Maharishi University Media Fest Concludes with a Grand Closing Ceremony

Maharishi University Media Fest:- The grand closing ceremony of the Maharishi Media Academic Fest, exPRESSion – 2024, organized by the Media Department of Maharishi University of Information and Technology, Noida, was held successfully. Professor (Dr.) Sanjay Singh Baghel and senior news anchor Priya Singh, from the fields of journalism and mass communication, graced the ceremony and encouraged the students with their words.

The event saw participation from nearly 100 students from various colleges and universities, along with subject experts from other media institutions. The ceremony began with a Guru Puja. Dr. Sanjay Singh Baghel, the chief guest, emphasized four key elements in his speech—knowledge, information technology, wisdom, and communication skills—urging students to remember these essentials for a smoother path forward.

During the event, Dr. Avkash Mishra, Dean of Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. Shambhu Sharan Gupta, Head of the Media Department, honored the chief guest, Professor (Dr.) Sanjay Singh Baghel, and the Guest of Honor, Senior News Anchor Priya Singh, with mementos, shawls, and tulsi plants.

Guest of Honor Priya Singh highlighted the importance of fact-checking and staying alert with the “five senses” while news anchoring. External subject experts, Dr. Vivek Kumar and Mr. Prasoon Narayan, also shared their thoughts on film and theater.

On this occasion, students from the Media Department presented cultural programs, captivating the attention of the guests and attendees. The event concluded with an awards distribution ceremony, where winners and runners-up from seven different competitions—including news writing, news presentation, piece-to-camera, spot photography, poster design, snap story, and street play—were awarded.

To mark the occasion, students decorated the auditorium and campus with media cutouts and roll-ups, which were appreciated by Vice-Chancellor (Dr.) B.P. Singh, Dean of Academics Dr. Tripti Agrawal, and Deputy Dean of Academics Smita Mishra during their inspection. They praised the students for their efforts.

On this occasion, Dr. Shambhu Sharan Gupta, Head of the Media Department, expressed gratitude to all the guests, external experts, and university officials and associates.
