This was the first meeting between PM Modi and PM Starmer, during which both leaders discussed deepening the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Key areas of focus included:

The Cases of Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya
- Nirav Modi:
An Indian businessman involved in a $2 billion fraud at Punjab National Bank. He faces charges of money laundering, fraud, and embezzlement. In 2018, Nirav fled to the UK and sought political asylum. Swiss authorities have also frozen his assets worth $6 million. - Vijay Mallya:
Known for the collapse of Kingfisher Airlines, Mallya has been declared a “willful defaulter” under Indian law. In 2017, he was convicted for contempt of court and ordered to repay millions with interest. Despite his legal appeals, India has been pursuing his extradition for years.
