BANDRA STAMPEDE: WHAT HAPPENED DUING THE INCIDENT, HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT INJURED AND WHAT MEASURES ARE BEEN TAKEN AFTER THE INCIDENT?
BANDRA RAILWAY STATION: On 24 October ,2024 Sunday a incident took place in BANDRA terminal station’s platform number one around 6 am. During the incident a large number of crowds were presented on the railway station due to the festive season trying to board the train even when it stated moving. Due to the following terms 9 people got badly injured.
Cops during the incident.
As per the report and CCTV footage of the incident cops try to stop the crowd but the large amount of people was uncontrollable. But as soon as the train left the cops immediately push back the crowd and took the injured people to the nearest hospital.
According the them crowd was so large that they were not even helping the injured people in the process of boarding the train. They also said that 100 people were trying to board the train among which 10 people got injured.
What led to this major incident?
A train was scheduled to run on Saturday didn’t arrive on the station, and later even got cancelled leading to major crowd gather on Sunday morning. According to further reports the people boarding the train were heading toward their native places for the festive season.
Measures taking after the incident.
The people who got injured are currently in KB Bhabha Municipal General Hospital.
The central railway imposed temporarily restricted on platform ticket sale at several station which includes; Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal, Nagpur, Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, and Pune. On the other hand, western railways also did the same on station like Borivali, Vasai, Vapi and Dadar.
The railways also deployed 30-40 TC’S at the entrance of the station for checking of tickets and controlling the people with fake tickets. Apart from these extra counters, adequate staff and multiple information channels are also placed for smooth functioning during festival.

After the following incident the New Delhi railway station and Anand Vihar railway station also restricted selling of platform ticket till November 7,2024 to tackle the festive crowd.
